The Color Purple

Purple is royalty. A mysterious color, purple is
associated with both nobility and spirituality.
The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine
to create this intriguing color.

Purple has a special, almost sacred place in

nature: lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers

are often delicate and considered precious. Because

purple is derived from the mixing of a strong warm

and strong cool color it has both warm and cool properties.

A purple room can boost a child's imagination or an artist's

creativity. Too much purple, like blue,

could result in moodiness.

The color of mourning for widows in Thailand,

purple was the favorite color of Egypt's Cleopatra.

It has been traditionally associated with royalty

in many cultures. Purple robes were worn by royalty

and people of authority or high rank. The Purple Heart

is a U.S. Military decoration given to soldiers

wounded in battle.

Using Purple:
  • Deep or bright purples suggest riches.
  • Lighter purples are more romantic and delicate.
  • Use redder purples for a warmer color scheme or the bluer purples to cool down.

Release all your negative thoughts and feelings.
Fill yourself with positive thoughts, feelings and behaviors
that return to you through the generosity, love and
kindness of those with whom you interact.

When bad things happen to you,
do not view them as roadblocks

but as stepping stones which lead
you to a higher quality of life.

Confucius quote:
"It does not matter how
slowly you go as long

as you do not stop."

Hope you enjoyed all the purple today. I did have a request for

this color. It happens to be one of my favorites if not my favorite.

Please be reminded I always welcome comments and suggestions.

I may not always use a suggestion, but I listen and do what I

can when I think it is a good thing for a Daily Dose - and

something in general that most would like. I try to include

something for everyone and that is not an easy task at

times. But I do not know of anyone who does not like variety -

and I feel I do deliver in that area! So, not to rattle on here,

do be safe and always be aware of everything and everyone

around you. Practice that daily and be mindful. Thanks for

joining me this week, and I hope to see

you back here on Monday. Take care.
