Life is not always fair.
Sometimes you get a splinter even
sliding down a rainbow.
~Terri Guillemets

Just living is not enough.
One must have sunshine,
freedom, and a little flower.
~Hans Christian Anderson

Life is a great big canvas,
and you should throw all the
paint on it you can.
~Danny Kaye

I think everybody should get rich and
famous and do everything they ever
dreamed of so they can see that
it's not the answer.

Sweet Potato Puff

2 cups mashed sweet potato

2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 egg

To the mashed potatoes add the melted butter, seasonings and milk.
Beat the egg yolk and white separately, add the yolk to the potato
mixture and then fold in the white. Bake in one dish or in individual
molds until puffy and brown.

NOTE: Today concludes the salt tips

A pinch of salt improves the flavor of cocoa.

To remove grease stains in clothing, mix one part salt to four parts alcohol.

Salt and lemon juice removes mildew.

Sprinkle salt between sidewalk bricks where you don't want grass growing.

Polish your old kerosene lamp with salt for a brighter look. Remove odors from sink drainpipes with a strong, hot solution of salt water.

If a pie bubbles over in your oven, put a handful of salt on top of the spilled juice. The mess won't smell and will bake into a dry, light crust which will wipe off easily when the oven has cooled.

I would like to thank the many of you who posted comments in my guest book

and sent e-mail with such wonderful words for my parents on the celebration of

their 65th wedding anniversary. It sure added to the day's blessings for them.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

Well, here we are - the end of September. Once again I have no idea where time

goes?! Weeks just seem to fly by soooo fast!

I really wish they would slow down.

Here is wishing everyone a wonderful first weekend of October. Join me

again on Monday as I welcome in the new month. You will find

the link for October in the menu at the top of the page just as you

did for the month of September.

September will be removed and a link for it will be under the

2011 Daily Dose calendar in the menu.

Remember to be safe,

always be aware of everything and everyone around you.

Have a good Friday!
