Music Today by: Floyd Cramer - It's Only Make Believe

Happy September everyone. I hope you will enjoy

all the quotes and thoughts today. I got kinda

carried away - love the inspiration

and feelings they bring to my days ......

September is the ninth month of the year.

It has 30 days.

It is derived from the Latin word "Septem" which means seven

It originally was the seventh month of the Roman calendar.

*BIRTHSTONE: Sapphire

*FLOWER: Aster, Morning Glory

*SYMBOLIZES: Clear thinking

Perhaps the only thing prettier than

a September morn is the sight of the

Full Harvest Moon rising,

bathing the fields in golden light.

On the Autumnal Equinox, around September 21st, in Sacramento,

California, Northern Hemisphere, Earth, we have around

12 Hours of Daylight and 12 Hours of Nighttime.

Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's

still a gift.

~ Regina Brett

Draw from family and friends, feel like that

small-town person. The achievements, the materialistic

possessions really then become to mean less.

Every accomplishment starts with

the decision to try.

"The breezes taste of apple peel.
The air is full of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs, burning brush,
New books, erasers, chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive, well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean with suds, the days
Are polished with a morning haze."

-   John Updike

"In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil.
And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb color effects as from August to November."
-   Rose G. Kingsley, The Autumn Garden, 1905

"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer."
-   Helen Hunt Jackson

"The air is different today
the wind sings with a new tone
sighing of changes
coming
the harvest gathered
a flower, a nut
some mead, and bread
a candle and a prayer
returning the fruits
in thanksgiving
to the grove
and receiving
it's blessing
again"
-   Rhawk, Alban Elfed

"When the goldenrod is yellow,
And leaves are turning brown -
Reluctantly the summer goes
In a cloud of thistledown.

When squirrels are harvesting
And birds in flight appear -
By these autumn signs we know
September days are here."
-   Beverly Ashour

Before we begin talking about the threats we face,

the vulnerabilities that we have, and frankly the

courage of the men and women in uniform that

stand in harm's way on behalf of a very grateful Nation,

let us first honor the sacrifices of September 11.
