Celebrate the life

of Elvis with me ... today

All quotes today are by Elvis

"From the time I was a kid, I always knew something was

going to happen to me. Didn't know exactly what."

"I learned how important it is to entertain people and

give them a reason to come and watch you play."

“I believe in the Bible. I believe that all good things come from God.

 I don't believe I'd sing the way I do if God hadn't wanted me to.' ”

"When I was a child I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was the hero

of the comic book. I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie.

So every dream I have ever dreamed has come true

a thousand times."

President Jimmy Carter, on Elvis' Death,
Elvis Presley's death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique, irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago, he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense. And he was a symbol to people the world over of the vitality, rebelliousness and good humor of this country.

Blue is the overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable and committed. The color of sky and the ocean, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives.

As the collective color of the spirit, it invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming; however not all blues are serene and sedate. Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic, an engaging color that expresses exhilaration.

Some shades or the overuse of blue may come across as cold or uncaring. Blue is the least "gender specific" color, having equal appeal to both men and women.

How the color blue affects
us physically and mentally

* Calming and sedate
* Cooling
* Aids intuition
