We need both the rough times and the soft shoulders of a

friend. They contribute equally to the designs our lives are

weaving. The rough times press us to pray, to reach out to

others for solace. And our pain gives others the chance to

heal our wounds. We are all healers offering strength.

And we all need healing now and then.

The beauty of hearing each other is that it helps us to hear

ourselves. We know better who we are when we listen

to one another. Every conversation offers us a chance to be

real, to help another person be real.

Laughter over our mistakes eases the risk of trying again.

Laughter keeps us young, and the lighthearted

find more pleasure in each day.

Days fill up with failures sometimes. You can laugh about it, though.

Your laughter will open the way to another try.

Flowers are food for the soul

Drop Jello Sugar Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 oz. Box Jello gelatin (any flavor)
2 Tbs. Milk
2-1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp. Salt
Cream together shortening, egg, sugar, vanilla and Jello mix. Add milk,
flour and salt. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten
with the bottom of glass which has been dipped in sugar. Bake at 400
about 12 minutes. Yields: 5-1/2 dozen.

 season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in

 your grain and your wine and your oil. And he will give grass in your
