Barry Manilow - I Made It Through The Rain

Easy Pound Cake

3 cups sugar
4 sticks of butter
4 cups plain flour
6 eggs room temperature
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
1 tsp almond flavoring

Beat sugar & butter until creamy, 
add eggs: one at a time, beating well 
after each egg. Add flour, milk alternately: 
starting with flour and ending with flour: 
(beating well with each addition) Stir in flavorings this
 will be thick. Bake 325 degrees, 1.5 hours or forty minutes
 depending on your oven.  Let cool in pan 
for 5 minutes then remove. You can 
use a bundt pan or tube pan, you can also grind lemon 
rind into it and add 2 tsp lemon flavoring or
any kind of fruit. Use cool whip to top it off.
