Michael Buble -- I Wanna Go Home
Home is not where you live but
where they understand you.
~Christian Morgenstern
Peace - that was the other name for home.
~Kathleen Norris
Where we love is home,
Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Where thou art - that - is Home.
~Emily Dickinson
Home
is the one place in all this world where hearts
are sure of each
other. It is the place of confidence. It
is the place where we tear
off that mask of guarded and
suspicious coldness which the world forces
us to wear in
self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved
communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the
spot where
expressions of tenderness gush out without
any sensation of awkwardness
and without any dread of ridicule.
~Frederick W. Robertson
Bacon Wrapped
Water Chestnuts
1 lb. sliced bacon
2 cans of water chestnuts
1 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
sturdy round toothpicks
Cut bacon strips into thirds. Drain water off chestnuts. Wrap each
chestnut with a one-third strip of bacon and put in a flat baking
dish/broiler
pan. Broil on one side for 5 minutes and then turn the
chestnuts to the
other side. Watch so they don't burn. You want the
bacon to be crisp,
so continue broiling until the bacon shrinks and
wraps around the chestnut.
Mix the ketchup and brown sugar together to make a paste. Once the bacon
is done, remove from the broiler, pour off
the grease, cover the chestnuts
with the sauce, and put the pan back
under the broiler until the sauce
on the chestnuts bubbles and gets thick.
