Calendars Today by Lois

Nutritionists tell us that we are what we eat. Eating well balanced
meals keeps us healthy. Poor diets contribute to poor health. Spiritual
nourishment works the same way. We are what we think. We can
put healthy, positive thoughts into our minds and surround ourselves
with spiritually fit people who support and affirm us. As
our thinking becomes healthier and our feedback more
enlightened, we reach greater harmony with life.

"Every man has two journeys to make through life.
There is the outer journey, with its various incidents and
the milestones ... There is also an inner journey, a spiritual
odyssey, with a secret history of its own."

~ William R. Inge

We can never solve all our problems at once but we can work them
through day by day and one at a time. The Latin Phrase festina lente is
translated "make haste slowly." It means to move cautiously
and step by step as we make changes in our lives. Facing one
day at a time builds into weeks and months
and we have accomplished much.

Nobody sails smoothly on the lake
every time out in a sailboat.
Nobody.

Sometimes there's no wind and other times there's too
much turbulence. Learn to adapt to life around you.
Welcome with open arms temptation with triumph, sadness
with joy and pain with pleasure. Faith will steer you
through the storms as well as the calm.

Don't be annoyed with people who move at a snail's pace.
It is from them you can learn to slow down. You can marvel at
the uniqueness of your fellow human beings while
realizing there are many ways to accomplish
your beginnings and your ends.

Have you ever caught a glimpse of yourself reflected in a
window and were shocked at the image you portrayed?
Maybe slumped shoulders, a drooping head or a defeated,
worn and tired expression? Just remember you can
straighten your posture and you can adjust your face,
but if the change doesn't come from the inside out, it
won't stick. If you feel that is
too much - invite God in to help.

Old Gas Stations
of the 20's

#9

I have enough pictures to finish out this week.
I would like to thank my friend Dorothy for sharing
these with me so I could share with all of you.
I have had many comments on these. I am glad
that you have enjoyed!

Here is looks like we have Super Motor Fuel. I guess they felt Dome Gas
was better, but this stuff is SUPER! LOL ... and it appears that one
could purchase tires and Evergreen tubes here. One stop shopping.
Gotta love that.

I will now display the music player at the top of my pages.

from you the readers.
This will make it easier to pause/silence the music

without scrolling to the bottom of the page. Also the artist
and the name of the song will be displayed in the
player when possible.
Just please know that while I will not try to
please everyone because that is just impossible,
I do take into consideration all comments,
suggestions and complaints. I may not always respond,
but I do consider myself a considerate person, and I
will always read what you have to say.

Well, it is cooling off here in OHIO -- but that is okay.
All this nice weather we have been having

was bound to come to an end. Yesterday was one of
those "sunshine on my shoulders" day. Loved it.
Do enjoy this day - be safe and always

be aware of everything and everyone around you.
 Join me again tomorrow.
