Old Gas Stations
from the 20's
#10
Wow, note the name of the station
"Toot-An-Kum-In".
This is a really modern looking station with the full roof and multiple islands of pumps. Wow again. And - AMOCO Gas (still around today)
but what does "filtered" mean? Obviously they consider other gas to be dirty?
Thoughts/quotes will return tomorrow,
thank you!
Pumpkin-Caramel Monkey Bread
1/2 Cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
4 Cans Pillsbury® Grands!® Flaky Layers refrigerated biscuits
1 Cup packed brown sugar
3/4 Cup butter
1/4 Cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 6-cup (9-inch) fluted tube cake pan or angel food (tube) cake pan with cooking spray.
In large food-storage plastic bag, mix granulated sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Separate each can of dough into 8 biscuits; cut each biscuit into quarters. Place 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in sugar-spice mixture; shake well. Continue to add more biscuit pieces to sugar-spice mixture until all are completely coated. Place biscuit pieces in pan.
In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar and pumpkin over medium heat. When mixture begins to boil, cook and stir 1 minute. Pour over biscuits in pan.
Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Place plate upside down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Remove pan. Serve warm.
Flavor boost—For extra pumpkin flavor, double the butter and brown sugar. Add an additional 1/2 cup of pumpkin and save 1 cup of the pumpkin-caramel mixture to drizzle over your warm bread as it comes out of the oven!
EAGLE SITE
Last season I passed along the below site on several of my pages. I do not know how many of you watched as this awesome pair of Eagles went thru the long process of raising a family.
And you can watch daily. I immediately became hooked and so did some family members.
How interesting and amazing this bird is. They have just began the process of preparing
the same nest once again for a brand new family. To our knowledge all three Eaglets survived
from the last family. One has a tracking device on him and it has been interesting
to see just how far they travel. Everything you need to know is on this site to learn
about the past history of these two Eagles and how they have added more Eagles yearly
to our country. There is not much going on right now, but I have
noticed in checking back that they are preparing the nest and I observed
two field mice in the nest this morning! They better be careful or may become a snack
for the birds! So, as the months pass - you will see just how these birds live,
grow and produce. Keep the site handy, as this is the only post on it I will pass along.
If you are a bird, animal and nature lover, you will be glad
you checked back and will find this amazing.
- This pair has been
together since the winter of 2007-2008.
- Her markings at that time indicated that
she was about 4 years old.
- They successfully hatched and fledged 2 eaglets in
2008,
- 3 in 2009, 3 in 2010, and 3 in 2011.
- Good luck to them in 2012
Thank you all for the email and notes in my guest book. Daily I am
touched with your words! Please do join me again tomorrow as I
will honor Veteran's Day. Please show your respect and fly your flag.
Be safe, enjoy today and always be aware of everything and
everyone around you. Have a great day.
