Spotlighting Old Gas Stations

Note: I will begin today sharing photos of old-time gas stations. A friend recently sent me some pictures of them and I found them most interesting and amusing. My, my, we have come a long way. Let's leave the price of gasoline out of this one - ha, ha. Grrr! So thank you Dorothy for sharing these with me. Here is number one! ENJOY ....

The place is a Texaco gasoline filling station dated in the 20's sometime. What is that contraption with the ramps!? Interesting. The mechanism appears to be driven by the car's wheels. Hydraulic lines go to that can with a raised top. What could it be? A pump for lubing a car's underparts? The little sign does say "Havoline" which was Texaco's brand name for its oil products. Maybe it's a primitive car wash. I dunno, care to guess?

You can leaves your comments in my guest book.

ADVICE

The best way to succeed in life is to

act on the advice we give to others.

~Author Unknown

The true secret of giving advice is, after you have honestly given it,

to be perfectly indifferent whether it is taken or not,

and never persist in trying to set people right.

Here is hoping everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good.......

My Mother and I attended a senior citizens pancake breakfast complete with a craft and a bake sale. We rented a table and displayed our homemade caramels and peanut clusters. We are starting to get busy with the holidays approaching. Visit our site - it is in the menu at the top of my pages or you can click below. We did good and had fun visiting with the public.

On another note, we did outside clean up of leaves and such. I hated to see my hanging baskets go, but it was time as we have had frost several nights and they did not fair well. Just too cold. We also installed a new fireplace screen cover, so we are ready to build that relaxing fire when the time arrives. There! Enough about me.

So here is hoping you will have a good day - be safe and always aware of everything and everyone around you. Please do join me again tomorrow. Share my inspiration with friends, family and groups. Just send them the link! Thank you.
